the meridian one
rendered silhouette unavailable on this device.
Sound.
Sculpted.
the meridian one — one driver, no crossover, turned from a single block of walnut.
one chamber. one voice.
no crossover to blur the timing. a single full-range driver, sealed in a lathe-turned enclosure.
walnut, gunmetal, air.
hand-turned cabinet, machined rings, a plinth cut from solid billet. materials chosen for how they hold a note still.
then it settles into silence.
everything returns to rest — the hush a well-made object keeps before the first note.
nothing here is decorative.
each material earns its place by what it does to resonance — damping where the cabinet must stay silent, mass where the driver must stay still.
american walnut
a single billet, lathe-turned to a subtle waist. dense enough to deaden cabinet ring, warm enough to be lived with for decades.
machined gunmetal
concentric driver rings and the phase plug, turned from solid stock and left unlacquered.
billet aluminium
the plinth is cut from one aircraft-grade block, decoupling the cabinet from the floor and grounding every low note.
low enough that the room breathes with the recording, sealed so it never booms.
crossover components. one driver. no crossover. nothing between you and the take.
pairs in the first turning. each voiced by hand before it leaves the bench.
“it disappears. you stop hearing a speaker and start hearing the room the recording was made in.”
“a masterclass in restraint. timing so coherent it borders on eerie.”
“the rare object that feels quieter than the room it stands in — until it sings.”
turn your room on.
